Posted on 2/10/2019 by Dr McMurray
Are TMD Symptoms the Same for Everyone?TMD stands for Temporomandibular Disorders. It can also be called TMJ syndrome. This refers to several different conditions of the jaw. The symptoms can be different, but one they all have one thing is common. They are all painful.

Types of Temporomandibular Disorders

Most temporomandibular disorders can be classified into one of three categories. Myofascial pain refers to pain in the muscles that control the jaw. It can also be felt in the neck and even the shoulders. Internal derangement of the joint refers to a dislocated jaw. Degenerative joint disease is a disease that affects the jaw such as osteoarthritis.
