
After receiving his DMD degree with distinction from the prestigious Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. McMurray completed a four year intensive hospital residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Southern California School of Medicine/ Los Angeles County Medical Center. His training focused primarily on reconstructive surgery ranging from complex facial deformities, trauma and diseases.
Learning is a lifelong passion for Dr. McMurray. He holds an MBA degree from Pepperdine University - one of the nation’s premier graduate business schools. His passion for surgery is only equaled with his commitment to a business based on a foundation of high ethical standards. Dr. McMurray’s philosophy is that providing outstanding patient care should never come at a cost of running an efficient business practice.
Dr. McMurray has been serving the South Valley since 1997. A board-certified surgeon - he served 11 years with the U.S. Navy. He was fleet Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon aboard the aircraft carrier; USS Nimitz and was the clinical department head at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Naples, Italy. He is the founder and director of the South Valley Study Club (component of the Seattle Study Club: www.seattlestudyclub.com ) a multi-disciplinary organization whose mission is to improve patient care through the advancement of continuing education. Dr. McMurray is committed to the power of knowledge. He publishes a quarterly newsletter directed toward efficient practice management and often presents clinical lectures to both the dental and medical community. He has received numerous awards and recognition for his work.
He is an accomplished Commercial pilot and holds an instrument rating in high performance complex single engine airplanes. Community involvement through Rotary International and his passion to help others has drawn him to volunteer his time to Angel Flight (www.angelflight.org); a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide free air transportation in response to heath care and other compelling human needs.
